We are more than an event. We’re a MOVEMENT FOR JOURNALISM. An annual gathering of journalists & editors from globally-renowned media, organized by the International Press Institute (IPI).

This year’s IPI World Congress was moved online for the first time in our 70 year history, but we hope to be back in real life in New York next year. We’re working with our hosts at Columbia University to set the dates for September 2021, so stay tuned here for any updates.

Amanyehun R. SiSAY is an expert media and communications specialist and business consultant. He draws a valuable experience of over 15 years in the subject gained through research, training and newsroom practice. In 2011, he founded the Champion Communications and has since been as a CEO. In 2012, Champion launched its flagship magazine, the Ethiopian Business Review, to which he is the executive editor. He is responsible for training editors and bringing fresh talents to the media house. Since establishment, the practice of ethical, professional and responsible journalism has been the hallmark of Ethiopian Business Review.
In October 2018 CHAMPiON launched a Saturday Newspaper called ADDIS MALEDA and has since then published 100 editions, as of October 2, 2020. ADDIS MALEDA has further grown by launching a magazine in September 2020 and aspires to further expand into RADIO & TELEVISION services.
Amanyehun graduated with a BA degree in Political Science from Addis Ababa University in 2005. He also graduated with an MBA in Entrepreneurship from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in 2018. He has also taken numerous training and professional development programmes at the VOA in Washington, the Bloomberg Television and the Associated Press in New York. He has also attended several Media workshops in Africa.
