We are more than an event. We’re a MOVEMENT FOR JOURNALISM. An annual gathering of journalists & editors from globally-renowned media, organized by the International Press Institute (IPI).

This year’s IPI World Congress was moved online for the first time in our 70 year history, but we hope to be back in real life in New York next year. We’re working with our hosts at Columbia University to set the dates for September 2021, so stay tuned here for any updates.

Sbu Ngalwa is an experienced journalist with 18 years experience. Sbu has previously held a number of senior positions at various publications - including as Politics Editor at the Sunday Times and Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Dispatch and DispatchLive.
He has also worked as a Parliamentary Correspondent for Independent Newspapers. He is currently the Politics Editor at Newzroom Afrika, a 24 hour news channel in South Africa and chairperson of the South African National Editors Forum (SANEF).
